ACT NOW: Tell the State Legislature to Add a MENA Category in California.

For far too long, the Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) population has been overlooked and underrepresented. This lack of recognition has caused serious disparities in education, healthcare, and access to resources—even in California, one of the most diverse states in the country.

On January 6, 2025, Assemblymember John Harabedian introduced AB-91: The MENA Inclusion Act. If passed, This bill would require state and local agencies that collect ethnic demographic data to use separate collection categories for major MENA populations to include that data in every demographic report published starting 2027.

This is our chance to make history, but we need YOUR voice to push it through.

Creating a distinct MENA category will ensure that our communities are no longer invisible in the data that shapes critical policies and programs. This is about dignity, equity, and justice for millions of Californians.

We need your support to make this change happen.

Take Action NOW!
